Shooter kills 19 youngsters in Texas school frenzy

UVALDE, Texas (AP) — A 18-year-old shooter started shooting Tuesday at a Texas grade school, killing no less than 19 kids as he went from one homeroom to another, authorities said, in the deadliest school shooting in almost 10 years and the most recent frightful second for a nation scarred by a series of slaughters. The aggressor was killed by policing.


The loss of life likewise included two grown-ups, specialists said. Gov. Greg Abbott expressed one of the two was an educator.


The attack at Robb Elementary School in the vigorously Latino town of Uvalde was the deadliest taking shots at a U.S. school since a shooter killed 20 kids and six grown-ups at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012.


Hours after the assault, families were all the while watching for news on their kids.

Outside the town city focus, where families were told to anticipate news about their friends and family, the quietness was broken over and over by shouts and howling. "No! Please, no!" one man shouted as he embraced another man.


"My heart is broken today," said Hal Harrell, the school area administrator. "We're a little local area, and we will require your requests to overcome this."


Adolfo Cruz, a 69-year-old cooling repairman, was still external the school as the sun set, looking for word on his 10-year-old extraordinary granddaughter, Elijah Cruz Torres.
